South Forsyth High School Performing Arts is proud to participate annually, celebrating the talent, hard work, and passion of our students and directors. Whether on stage, backstage, or behind the scenes — the Shulers inspire us to grow, collaborate, and dream big.
Often called the "Georgia High School Tony Awards," the Shulers are the state’s highest honor for high school musical theatre. Each spring, Georgia high schools submit their musicals to be evaluated by industry professionals in categories like Best Production, Leading Actor/Actress, Scenic Design, Choreography, and more.
Highlights:
Each fall, our theatre students participate in two major events that challenge their skills and celebrate their growth: the GHSA One Act Play Competition and the Georgia Theatre Conference (GTC).
GHSA One Act is a competitive event where our troupe stages a full one-act production to be performed and adjudicated against other schools in our region. It’s a powerful opportunity to showcase talent, teamwork, and storytelling under pressure.
GTC is a statewide theatre conference offering workshops, performances, and college audition opportunities. It connects our students to the broader theatre community and inspires them to grow as artists, both on stage and behind the scenes.
These events are highlights of our season and essential experiences for our dedicated performers and technicians.
A unique opportunity for students to showcase their talents in writing, speaking, and performance. This academic and artistic contest highlights excellence in communication, interpretation, and creativity across multiple disciplines.
Our Performing Arts students compete in oral interpretation, dramatic performance, and vocal events, bringing literature and music to life on stage with precision and passion.
Performing Arts Categories Include:
These events allow our students to refine their craft in a focused, competitive setting, often advancing to regionals and state-level recognition.
Participation in Literary is an honor and a rewarding experience that challenges students to grow as expressive, disciplined artists.
